Toddler Program
Pre-School thru Lower Elementary

CHM provides before and after daycare.

Full time schedule includes anything from 7:00 Am until 6:00 Pm.

Our Preschool program is designed for children ages three through four. We consider it a fun, educational environment. Children are encouraged to engage, explore and enjoy.

The Kindergarten and Lower Elementary programs offers children the opportunity for group and individualized learning, focusing on math, language, creative writing, science, geography and culture. Our programs don't meet, they exceed the state standards.
Because one can never be quite sure how the day’s events will progress, all times are approximate.
7:00 – 8:00 The children may eat a light breakfast (provided by you) and play
with daycare jobs in one of our classrooms
8:00 – 9:00 Weather permitting, children are allowed to play outside in our
beautiful backyard playground
9:00 – 9:15 Children go inside to wash hands
9:15 – 9:30 Snack Time (we provide snack. It is always a fresh fruit and
carbohydrate item; raisin bread toast with butter, Nut Butter &Jelly with organic almond butter on whole wheat bread, quesadillas)
9:30 – 9:45 Circle Time. This includes morning songs, calendar, felt story,
weather, Montessori job presentations
9:45 – 10:15 Art Time
10: 15 - 10:45 Work Time: Children are allowed to work on any jobs in the class-
room, as long as the jobs are not beyond their particular skill level
(ex: most four year olds would not be working on the multiplication
box job). During this work time, the teachers will work individually
with the children assigned to her on their math and language jobs.
Progress on these jobs is documented daily.
10:45-11:00 Clean up and prepare for lunch
11:00-11:30 Lunch time
11:30 – 12:15 Outside play time
12:15 – 12:30 Children go inside and prepare for nap
12:30 – 2:30 Nap Time
2:30-3:00 Children wake up and may go outside for playtime
3:00 – 3:15 Snack Time (once again, we provide snack)
3:15-4:00 Outside play time. Various "table jobs" are brought out every day
an art job is made availiable to the children daily. We try to
provide various outdoor projects for the children so they are busy
and are having fun
4:00-4:30 "Second Lunch". May of our children start to get hungry again
around this time, so we allow them to finish what is left in their
lunches.
4:30 – 6:00 Free Play Time

This is a fun, enriching program designed for children two to three years of age.

In this program the children are provided a warm, nurturing environment in which they are encouraged to explore, create and learn.

The children are introduced to jobs, ideas and concepts from all areas of the Montessori environment and taught to love and respect their environment.

(Children in this program do not have to be potty trained.)

calendar (we count days in not one, not two, but three
different languages!), weather, Montessori job presentation,
monthly thematic unit: topic of day discussed and
corresponding job shown.
9:45-10:00 Snack Time (we provide snack. It is always a fresh fruit and
carbohydrate item. ex: raisin bread toast with butter, Nut Butter & Jelly made with organic almond butter on whole wheat bread, quesadillas)
10:00-11:20 Work Time: Children are allowed to work on any jobs in the
classroom, as long as the jobs are not beyond their particular

documented daily. Kindergarteners work in a group, focusing
on math and language skills.
11:20-11:30 Clean up and prepare for lunch
11:30-12:45 Lunch time & outside play time
**Children ages 4 and under nap between the hours of
12:30 and 2:30**
12:45-1:00 Children go inside, wash hands and prepare for afternoon circle
Afternoon Circle: We start afternoon with story time (book on
tape, felt story, etc), continue with mental math and finish by
showing a Montessori job.
1:00-2:30 Afternoon work time: Children once again work on jobs in the
classroom, with teachers guiding them and helping them when
necessary. Kindergarten and Lower Elementary students work in group setting.
2:30-3:00 At 2:30 the Montessori educational program ends. Children are
dismissed for outside playtime.
3:00-3:15 Snack Time (once again, we provide snack)
3:15-4:00 Outside play time. Various "table jobs" are brought out every day
and an art job is made available to the children daily. We try to
provide various outdoor projects for the children so they are
busy and are having fun.
4:00-4:30 "Second Lunch". Many of our children start to get hugry again
around this time, so we allow them to finish what is left in their
lunches.
4:30-6:00 Free Play Time.
*Children entering this program who are not yet potty trained can still be in the Preschool, Prekindergarten or Kindergarten programs; however, they will be charged at the "Toddler Program" rate. To be considered full potty trained, children will have been out of diapers or pull ups for at least two full months.
